This artwork is an homage to Thea LaFond who won the first Olympic Medal, a gold one, for Dominica, in Paris 2024. The drawings are made tracing footage of Thea LaFond's triple jump through a technique called rotoscoping.
Sandra Vivas (b. 1969) is a Venezuelan/Dominican artist known for her performance, video and installations that explore themes of gender identity, power structures and social issues. Her work is recognized for its powerful commentary on contemporary Venezuelan society and pioneer feminist art. In recent years Vivas started to work on hand drawn, artisanal animations.​

60 drawings are installed at the Museum Café at Fort Young Hotel and 2 drawings are at Bwa Den at Secret Bay, Dominica.
